Tour Details

10:30 AM - Departure

Board the Circuit Rider, a traditional Chesapeake Bay deadrise work boat, at Somers Cove Marina Pier B6. Please arrive by 10:15 AM for orientation and prompt departure.

11:30 AM - Tylerton

Enjoy a scenic cruise across Chesapeake Bay waters to the picturesque village of Tylerton where you will savor a delicious crab cake lunch upon arrival, included in the cost of the trip. Tips for the workers are always welcomed. Take some time to stroll along the quiet streets, take in the stunning views of this quaint village.

12:30 PM - Rhodes Point

Depart for Rhodes Point and dock at a waterman’s crab shanty. Witness a Chesapeake Bay blue crab demonstration and learn about the fascinating blue crab industry on Smith Island. Discover the secrets of the famous Maryland state dessert, the Smith Island layer cake, during a cake baking demonstration and enjoy a sample to take home.

2:00 PM - Ewell

Depart for Ewell and explore the local museum, with admission included in the cost of the trip. Delve into the rich history of Smith Island. Take a stroll through the village of Ewell, visiting gift shops and soaking in the local charm.

3:30 PM - Return to Somers Cove Marina

Enjoy a relaxing cruise back to Crisfield, arriving at the marina by 4:30 PM.

• Arrival: Please arrive at the marina by 10:15 AM to allow proper time for boarding and orientation.

• Weather: Dress appropriately for the weather conditions, keeping in mind it will be cooler on the water.

• Facilities: The boat is equipped with a bathroom for your convenience.

• What to Consider Bringing: Bug spray, sun block, camera, snacks, water (water will also be provided on the boat), and cash. Not all stores on the island accept credit cards.
