Adventure Tips

Bring insect repellent

Missouri forests can be buggy, especially in warmer months, so carry effective repellent to stay comfortable.

Pack layered clothing

Weather can change quickly in the Ozarks; layers help you stay comfortable during cool mornings and warm afternoons.

Carry a reliable headlamp

The hut’s rustic setting means limited artificial light—headlamps are handy for moving around safely at night.

Prepare for limited cell service

Connectivity in this remote area is spotty; download maps and offline resources before arrival.
