About This Adventure

Experience the grandeur of two iconic ceremonies on our enhanced changing the guard tour. Witness the historic Change of the Lifeguard and the famous guards at St James Palace, all while enjoying a leisurely pace. Capture stunning photos and immerse yourself in royal history at Buckingham Palace—an unforgettable adventure awaits!

Due to the incredible popularity of our changing the guard tour, we have added a second guard change tour where you will see even more!

On this tour we have the best of two worlds as we will observe some of the highlights from two ceremonies rather than one.

First up, witness the grandeur of the Change of the Lifeguard, a ceremony which dates back over 360 years. We will explain the history and meaning behind this ceremony, where the Household Cavalry face off across a spectacular parade ground. If you love horses, this is perfect!

Then we make a beeline for St James Palace to observe the end of the second change of the guard ceremony, where you will see the world famous guards with bearskin hats and red or grey tunics.

Finally, its off to Buckingham Palace, the official residence of the monarchy, to hear tales of its history, earlier royals and leave with a series of photos which will be the envy of all your friends back at home.

This is a slower paced walk than our other changing the guard tour. No marching alongside the guards, but plenty of history, photo opportunities, and more guards than you could hope for!
