Kihei, located on Maui’s sun-drenched western shore, is famed for its beautiful beaches and relaxed island atmosphere. Into this setting comes Desert Hollow’s unique sound—a refreshing mix of old-timey folk and blood harmonies enhanced by lively hoedowns and textured storytelling. Their synergy, born during their days as castmates in a Los Angeles jukebox country musical, has evolved into worldwide touring and rich collaborations with noted artists like Gregory Alan Isakov and Lukas Nelson.
What sets Desert Hollow apart in Maui’s music scene is their ability to evoke distant landscapes through their music while staying deeply connected to their island home. Their debut EP, 'Thirsty,' quickly earned acclaim, including an NPR Music feature, thanks to its blend of traditional folk elements with modern spirit. As they prepare to release their first full-length album in fall 2025, attending their live show gives travelers an exclusive glimpse into a rising act poised to leave a lasting mark on the folk genre.
