The route

Without giving too much away, we'll start from our base at Porlock Weir after some fresh coffee and introductions. We'll then head out, climbing onto the local hills. Expect us to take in hills such as Selworthy, Horner, Ley Hill and Porlock Hill, and depending on the weather, Dunkery Beacon! We don't stick to the same route each time, as we tailor the route to the groups abilities, the weather and the trail conditions.

Dan & Jack are both local and very experienced Level 3 British Cycling MTB Leaders with years of experience under their belts. We'll flip a coin to decide which of us will be leading on the day!

Are e-bikes allowed?

Adventure Tips

Bring a full-suspension bike

A full-suspension mountain bike significantly enhances comfort and control on Exmoor’s rocky, root-filled singletrack.

Pack enough water and snacks

With seven hours in the saddle, staying fueled and hydrated is crucial for maintaining energy on long climbs.

Check weather in advance

Exmoor’s trails are weather-dependent; rain can make routes slippery and challenging, so dress accordingly.

E-bikes are welcome but pace differs

E-bike riders should be prepared to adjust their speed to match non-assisted riders on mixed groups.
