Humpback Migration

Humpback whales visit Hawaii from November to April but our best time to see them is from January to March. They migrate to Hawaii from Alaska to mate and have their babies. During their time in the islands, you can spot them along the coast showing off to attract mates, teaching newborns how to swim, or just relaxing at the surface while they cruise down the coast.

What are the chances of whale sightings?

While there is never a guarantee with wild animals, we will give you the best chance to see these creatures. Our crew is highly experienced in locating whales along the coast and we run a communication network with all the other captains out on the water. This means that if there are any whales in the area that day we're sure to know about them!

Adventure Tips

Bring binoculars

Binoculars enhance distant whale spotting, especially when whales surface beyond the boat’s immediate range.

Wear layered clothing

Ocean spray and breeze can cool you quickly; dress in layers to stay comfortable throughout the trip.

Apply reef-safe sunscreen

Protect your skin with eco-friendly sunscreen to minimize harm to marine life during the trip.

Stay hydrated

Bring water onboard to keep hydrated, as salty sea air can dehydrate you faster than expected.
