About

The Exclusive Mountain Tour will begin higher up in Ottsjö village, where the scenery is truly breathtaking. Before we set off, your guide will provide you with a short course on driving a dog sled followed by a short health and safety talk. You will also have an opportunity to meet all the dogs, after which you will jump on your sled and we will start preparing for the journey by hooking the dogs up in their rightful positions.

Our exclusive tour really offers a magical experience. To the east, you will be able to see the mountain ranges of Storulån (Great Wolf River) and Selina. During the tour we will stop an opportunity for photos, before making our way back to the starting point via a different route. You are sure to be left with a lasting memory coupled with the excitement of your heart pumping and the dogs eagerly pulling you through the frozen landscape. After your tour we will make our way back to the meeting point where you will be served the traditional Swedish Fika!

What to wear?

Good clothing is absolutely essential to making the most of your tour. The key to keeping warm is layering:

  • Base layer – long thermal underwear to soak up sweat while keeping you warm
  • Mid layer – your insulating layer which will retain your body heat
  • Outer layer – your shell which will shield you from wind and snow
  • Woollen socks, hat and neck warmer
  • Insulated gloves
  • Good quality insulated boots made out of waterproof materials
  • Goggles or sunglasses

Please do not wear cotton or jeans.

Children and older people tend to get cold because they sit still on the sled. We suggest you bring extra layers such as woollen blankets for them. You can also purchase hand and foot warmers from us at the meeting point. Finally, we recommend that very young children wear a ski helmet.

For more information, please consult the Tour Kit List on our website, where we tell you about products we recommend and the possibility to hire from us.

Please arrive at the Wildspirit Kennel 30 Minutes before your tour starts
