Expect continuous walking for 6–7 hours with frequent stops; distances cover most of the old medina’s key quarters and viewpoints.
Some sites on the itinerary include admission while others do not; check your booking confirmation or ask the guide at pickup for specifics.
The medina’s narrow alleys and cobbles make wheelchair access limited; strollers are possible in parts but not recommended for the whole route.
Guides commonly speak English and French; confirm language availability at booking to ensure a match for your group.
Fez grew into a major medieval intellectual center—Al‑Qarawiyyin, founded in 859, is one of the world’s oldest continuously operating universities and helped shape the city’s scholarly identity.
The medina’s historic fabric is fragile; support local artisans directly, avoid single-use plastics, and follow guides’ requests to protect workshops and quiet residential courtyards.
