The wooden pirate-style boat eases out of Vrsar’s harbor as the low sun paints the Adriatic gold. Salted wind pulls at your jacket and the sea seems to lean close, whispering of pods ahead; soon a smooth dark back breaks the surface and the first dolphin charts a silver arc beside the hull. The two-hour panorama cruise threads through small islets and rocky shoals, where the coastline narrows and the boat slows to give wildlife room to perform.
