Mid-Continent's Engine House is a work area and is not normally accessible to the public. This opportunity is only available during our Stars & Stripes Special event, July 4th, 5th, and 6th, 2024.

The tours will not interfere with train rides. You may select from any of the train rides times offered and the train will pick up and drop off tour patrons right at the Engine House!
The guided tour begins at the depot. It is a 700-foot walk from the depot to the Engine House. Individuals with difficulty walking will be permitted to drive to the Engine House.
This tour is only available during the special Stars & Stripes event and spots fill quickly, so book your tour well in advance.
You’ll be on your feet for about 2 hours exploring the engine house, so sturdy, comfortable shoes will enhance your experience.
Engine houses can be cool and drafty inside, even in summer, so a light jacket or sweater is a good idea.
For your safety and preservation of the locomotives, always follow your guide’s instructions and avoid touching restricted areas.
