Trunk shows are an outreach program that allows schools, museums, and other education-oriented organizations to bring a hands-on experience from The Heritage Society to their site. During this 45–60-minute show, our docent dresses up as a nineteenth century frontiersman moving to Texas for the first time. They pull out a number of objects from their trunk that show what they might’ve needed to survive and how their technology worked. This offering is great for elementary-aged kids as it provides an opportunity to touch objects and ask questions.
