Description

Meet your guide for a mysterious adventure in the footsteps of the ghosts of Greyfriars Kirkyard Built in 1560 in the period town center, it towers over the new town and accumulates strange ghost stories.

In Edinburgh, Scotland, there is a charming little Gothic cemetery, Greyfriars Kirkyard, which is reputed to be the most haunted cemetery in the world. For a long time already, testimonies of strange manifestations had been reported but in 1999, after the accidental awakening of the evil spirit of George MacKenzie, the phenomenon suddenly intensified, claiming an incredible number of victims.

Greyfriars Cemetery takes its name from the Franciscan monastery that once stood on the site. In 1561, noting that it was impossible to continue to bury the parishioners in the church, for lack of space but also because of the "smells and inconveniences of summer", the council of the city decided to remove the central Edinburgh cemetery, choosing the courtyard of the former Greyfriars Monastery.
