You meet at a Riyadh storefront and, within an hour, the city’s flat light gives way to a low, copper horizon. The 4x4 grinds toward the Tuwaiq escarpment; when the road ends, the cliff does not — it simply drops away. From the summit the plain stretches unbroken to the horizon, the vertical face of the escarpment daring you to edge closer and look down over a 300‑meter wall.
