Montejo de la Sierra (Madrid)
Spend a morning on a small farm in the Sierra Norte of Madrid and discover as a family what life in the countryside is like in a very special place, where respect for nature and its cycles is the most important thing.
In a spectacular location, in Montejo de la Sierra, you will visit the herd of goats and sheep and participate in their care, taking them to the corral, feeding them and helping with other livestock tasks. You will also put your hands in the soil, learning different garden tasks depending on the time of year: removing potatoes, removing weeds, planting vegetables...
But above all, we will understand how the food we consume is produced and the importance of agriculture and livestock in the life cycle.
After booking we will send all the details of the reservation, as well as the location of the farm and the contact of the farmer.
If you wish to propose another day or time for the experience, send us a message and we will do our best to reschedule, or we can include one more experience for all day.
Farm terrain includes uneven ground and mud, so sturdy shoes provide the best footing.
Much of the farm work happens outdoors; sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses are recommended in warmer months.
To fully benefit from the two-hour visit, punctuality ensures you don’t miss the livestock feeding or garden tasks.
Participating in gardening and animal care involves handling soil and animals, so expect to wear clothes you don’t mind soiling.
Montejo de la Sierra has long been a center for pastoral farming, preserving practices dating back centuries within the Sierra Norte of Madrid.
The farm promotes sustainable methods aligned with the natural cycles of the region, minimizing chemical inputs and supporting soil health.
