Nestled in the serene Arctic wilderness near Apukka Resort, this adventure promises unforgettable moments in nature.

Our longest early winter husky tour covers 3 km (1.8 miles) and takes you across the fields and forests of Arctic nature. What a great opportunity to see these lovable dogs in action!

Tour description

Woof, woof! The dog sledding season arrived early, courtesy of our exclusive snowy trails crafted with stored snow from the previous winter. Huskies, among the most beloved creatures of the North, will quickly win your heart. This tour offers the chance to pet them, snap photos, and hear captivating stories about their lives. The highlight is the 3 km safari, where you take control of your husky team towing the sled. Our seasoned mushers provide guidance, ensuring you navigate nature like a true Arctic explorer.

Please note

Our husky farm is located a few minutes’ walk from the resort.

The guides have the discretion to allocate individuals to each sleigh, ensuring an even load for every dog team.

It's important to note that our guides do not drive the sleds; participants should possess sufficient physical fitness and body control to fully enjoy the experience of being mushers.

How do I get to the activity?

If you stay at Apukka Resort:

  • Arrive at the meeting point 10 min. Before the start of the activity.

If you need transportation:

  • The price of the activity includes transfers to and from Apukka Resort with our shuttle bus.
  • The bus stops are located at Rovaniemi city center and Santa Claus Village's bus stop, situated by the main road (Road E75).
  • Choose the pick-up point during the booking process.
  • You will receive an email with the pick-up details.
  • Please be at the bus stop at least 10 minutes before the given departure time.
  • The transfer won't wait, so punctuality is essential!
  • If you're late for the transfer, the tour won't be refunded.

If you arrive by car:

  • You can park your car in Apukka's parking lot (Tutkijantie 28, Rovaniemi).
  • Arrive at least 20 min before the activity starts.
  • Pick up your winter gear from the Apukka Adventures dressing room.
  • Wait at the meeting point until the tour begins.
