From the terrace the Salzburg skyline and the serrated ridges of the Berchtesgaden Alps unfold—sharp, wind-carved, and uncompromising.

Obersalzberg was transformed into a leadership retreat and propaganda site during the Nazi era; Kehlsteinhaus survived as a building adapted from an earlier summit tea house and is now a museum and viewpoint.
The Berchtesgaden area is adjacent to a national park; visitors are encouraged to stay on paths, pack out waste, and follow local guidelines to protect fragile alpine flora.
