About

Experience Port Stephens' bays, beaches, and marine life from above!

Home to the largest mobile sand dunes in the southern hemisphere, Stockton Beach is truly a sight to behold. Extending from Stockton all the way up to Port Stephens, this helicopter flight gives you an overview of one of Australia’s most incredible landscapes.

Cruising up Stockton beach at 500 feet, see the remains of MV Sygna, a 53,000 tonne Norwegian bulk carrier which had crashed ashore during powerful storms in 1974 and a glimpse of the historic Tin City, located on the northern stretch of the beach.

As you leave the huge rolling sand dunes behind, a picture-perfect panoramic view of the Port Stephens area awaits. With Port Stephens being a large natural harbor of approximately 134 square kilometers it's home to a host of marine life. Keep your eyes peeled as it’s not uncommon to spot whales breaching, dolphins playing or the odd great white shark lurking along this stretch of waters.

This Dunes and Port Stephens scenic flight take you over the eastern boundaries of the bay with spectacular views of Anna Bay, Fingal lighthouse, Mount Tomaree National Park, Hawks Nest and more before returning to Newcastle via Williamtown RAAF Base.

So, sit back relax and enjoy the incredible coastal views and stunning scenery on this helicopter tour of Newcastle and Port Stephens!
