About

Enjoy a scenic journey from Port Chalmers as you explore the vibrant city of Dunedin and the stunning Otago Peninsula – known as the wildlife capital of New Zealand.

Begin with a stop at one of the most photographed buildings in the Southern Hemisphere – the iconic Dunedin Railway Station. Then, get your camera ready as we wind our way along the Otago Peninsula, taking in breathtaking views of the harbour, bays, beaches, and an array of wading birds.

The highlight of your experience is a 1.5-hour guided tour at Penguin Place, a private conservation reserve dedicated to protecting the endangered Yellow-Eyed Penguin. During the tour, you may have the chance to see these rare penguins, along with other native wildlife such as New Zealand fur seals, sea lions, and occasionally little blue penguins in their nesting sites.

Please note: Yellow-Eyed Penguins are the most endangered penguin species in the world, and sightings in the wild cannot be guaranteed, as the animals roam freely in their natural environment. The tour involves walking through tunnels and uneven terrain, and therefore may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.

This unforgettable adventure offers a unique opportunity to connect with New Zealand’s incredible coastal landscapes and wildlife.
