Adventure tips

Secure cameras and phonesUse a wrist/neck strap or a zipped pocket during dune bashing to avoid drops when the vehicle tilts and bounces.

Wear closed-toe shoesLoose sand and camp activities are easier and safer in trainers or lightweight hiking shoes rather than sandals.

Hydrate before sunsetDesert heat and wind dehydrate quickly; drink water during pickup and again at the camp where refreshments are provided.

Limit jewelry and loose itemsRemove dangling jewelry and secure hats/scarves—wind gusts and quick vehicle moves can send them away.

Recommended gear

Closed-toe shoes: Protects feet on sand slopes, rocky access points and during camp activities.
Sun hat and sunglasses: Shields eyes and face from strong desert sun during afternoon activities.
Light windproof layer: Blocks chilly desert gusts after sunset when temperatures drop quickly.
Reusable water bottle (insulated): Keeps you hydrated; many providers supply bottled water but a refillable bottle is more sustainable.
