Frequently asked questions

How long does the full package take?

The package is designed to be completed over two days: a morning city tour (about 4 hours), an afternoon-to-evening desert safari (about 6 hours), and an evening dhow cruise (about 2–3 hours).

Are pickups and drop-offs included?

Yes—hotel pick-up and drop-off are included; pickup windows vary by tour leg, so confirm your exact time when you book.

Is the desert safari safe for children and older adults?

Most elements are family-friendly, but dune bashing may be too rough for very young children, infants or people with spinal/heart conditions; camel rides are mild but require balance.

Yes—desert BBQ and dhow cruise buffets typically include vegetarian options; notify the operator of dietary needs at booking.

History

Dubai grew from a 19th-century pearling and trading port into a 20th–21st century international hub; the Creek area preserves that maritime heritage while the desert remains central to Emirati identity.

Conservation

Stick to marked paths in desert areas, avoid littering camp spaces, and follow operator guidance to minimize disturbance to fragile dune habitats.

Adventure tips

Hydrate before and during activitiesCarry a refillable water bottle and drink often—temperatures and sun exposure can dehydrate you quickly in the city and desert.

Sun protection is non-negotiableSunscreen, sunglasses and a wide-brim hat will keep you comfortable during the daytime city stops and pre-sunset desert activities.

Wear closed-toe shoes for the desertSand and rocky approaches at camps and dune areas make lightweight hiking or trail shoes a better choice than sandals.

Check health and mobility restrictionsDune bashing and camel rides require getting on/off vehicles—avoid if you have spinal, heart, or pregnancy restrictions.

Recommended gear

Reusable water bottle: Keeps you hydrated across city stops, desert camp and during the dhow cruise.
Sun hat and sunglasses: Protects against intense sun during daytime tours and desert activities.
Closed-toe walking shoes: Helpful for sand, camp terrain and any light walking during the city tour.
Light jacket or shawl: Evenings in winter can be cool—bring a layer for the dhow cruise and desert night.
