Adventure tips

Choose morning or late afternoonSea conditions are typically calmer and temperatures are cooler at dawn or late afternoon—book these windows for better comfort and catch rates.

Bring motion-sickness remediesEven on calm days, the open Gulf can roll—pack travel pills or acupressure bands if you’re prone to seasickness.

Protect gear and yourself from sunUse polarized sunglasses, SPF 30+ sunscreen, and a small dry bag for electronics—the glare is strong and continuous.

Know catch rulesAsk the crew about local size and species limits and whether catch-and-release is advised for certain fish.

Recommended gear

Polarized sunglasses: Reduces glare and helps spot fish and floating debris.
Sunscreen (SPF 30+): Protects skin during long exposure on reflective water.
Motion-sickness medication or bands: Useful for those sensitive to rolling or choppy conditions.
Small dry bag or waterproof phone case: Keeps valuables and electronics dry while working the deck.
