Before the city wakes, the desert is already moving — wind pulling grains into sharp ridgelines and the first light strips color from the dunes. You trade glass towers for sand and a 4x4 for a seat over a billowing crest; the vehicle pitches and surges as it climbs, then drops, leaving a line of kicked sand in its wake.

Total door-to-door time is typically about 3–4 hours including pickup; the on-desert portion runs around 2–3 hours with dune bashing and activities.
When led by experienced drivers in properly maintained 4x4s, dune bashing is safe, but it involves quick slopes and sudden moves; follow driver instructions and remain seated with seat belts fastened if provided.
Camel rides are included on most morning safaris and are generally safe for children, though small kids may need adult assistance mounting and dismounting.
