History

Dubai Marina and Palm Jumeirah are recent coastal engineering projects from the late 20th and early 21st centuries that reshaped Dubai’s shoreline to expand tourism and real estate.

Adventure tips

Morning vs AfternoonMorning departures are cooler and calmer for photos; afternoon cruises often stop closer to Burj Al Arab for picture-taking—pick based on light and heat tolerance.

Sun ProtectionThe sun reflects strongly off the water; bring high-SPF sunscreen, sunglasses with polarized lenses, and a hat to prevent glare and sunburn.

Motion SicknessIf you get seasick, sit mid-ship, focus on the horizon, and take medication before boarding—prevention beats discomfort on a five-hour cruise.

Light LuggageSpace on deck and storage below is limited—bring a small daypack and leave bulky suitcases at your hotel or in the car.

Recommended gear

Sunscreen (SPF 30+): Protects against intense sun reflecting off the sea during midday and afternoon cruises.
Polarized sunglasses: Reduces glare for clearer photos and more comfortable vision on deck.
Light windbreaker: Evenings and early mornings can be breezy; a thin jacket adds comfort without bulk.
Small daypack or dry bag: Keeps valuables dry and hands-free while moving around the yacht.
