Adventure tips

Hydrate before and after the tourBring a reusable water bottle and drink plenty of fluids—dune-bashing and the desert heat dehydrate quickly.

Wear closed-toe shoes with gripSand can be hot and shifting; sneakers or light hiking shoes protect your feet during camel rides and sandboarding.

Secure cameras and phonesDune-bashing is bumpy; use straps or a protective case to prevent damage or loss during rides.

Follow the guide’s safety briefingDrivers stick to permitted routes to protect wildlife and prevent rollovers—obey seating and restraint rules.

Recommended gear

Closed-toe shoes: Protects feet from hot sand and gives traction on loose slopes.
Sun hat and sunscreen: Evening sun and reflective sand increase UV exposure—bring broad-spectrum SPF and a brimmed hat.
Reusable water bottle: Staying hydrated is critical before and after the desert portion of the tour.
Light scarf or windbreaker: Evenings can be cool; a thin layer blocks wind and fine sand during camp shows.
