Drink & Dip Private Tour brings Kentucky’s bourbon country within reach: an eight hour private distillery experience that visits top producers and includes the chance to dip your own bottle in Maker’s Mark’s signature red wax. The operator lists Maryland, United States for booking and logistics, but the route moves across Kentucky’s limestone country where mineral rich water and aging warehouses shape the spirit.
You travel in private transportation from your hotel or Airbnb; pick up and drop off are included. A dedicated tour coordinator finalizes the sequence of stops after you book so timing, special releases, and distillery availability are considered. The full experience runs about eight hours and is sized for groups of six to ten guests. Minimum age is twenty one and pricing starts at two hundred sixty nine dollars per person for parties of six or more. Distillery access cannot be guaranteed until the itinerary is confirmed.
Expect a blend of behind the scenes production tours and focused tastings. Key features include historic distillery architecture, barrel rickhouses, and the tactile ritual of dipping a bottle in red wax at Maker’s Mark. Kentucky’s limestone filtration is a defining geological element here; local groundwater is low in iron and rich in minerals, which distillers say softens the mash. You will see copper and stainless stills, coopered oak barrels, and long rows of aging casks that darken the air.
What makes this private tour special is curation. Rather than a fixed line of visitors, your group moves at a deliberate pace with time for questions, purchases, and photos. Guides emphasize process and provenance, answering questions about mash bills, char levels, mash fermentation, and warehouse temperature’s influence on aging. Because stops are tailored post booking, expect a refined route that picks available distilleries and tasting options.
Practical tips: wear sturdy closed shoes for cellar floors, carry a government ID, and bring a small cooler bag if you plan to transport purchases. Photography is welcome in many spaces but follow each distillery’s rules. If mobility issues affect your group, disclose needs when you reserve.
For travelers who want an in depth, relaxed introduction to bourbon without driving, Drink & Dip Private Tour compresses the highlights of the Kentucky bourbon trail into a single, memorable day. The keepsake wax dipped bottle is a concrete reminder of time spent learning how place, craft, and geology combine to create a distinctly Kentucky spirit.
Bookers should note that stops change seasonally and that the tour offers flexibility for private celebrations and corporate groups. The dedicated coordinator handles timing, permits, and special requests. Bring cash or card for purchases and allow extra time for shopping. This tour suits bourbon newcomers and seasoned collectors alike.

Bourbon has been distilled in Kentucky since the late eighteenth century; the region’s limestone-filtered groundwater has long been prized by distillers.
Many distilleries reuse spent grain for cattle feed and run water conservation programs; follow distillery guidance to minimize impact and respect private property.
