You step off the curb opposite Grand Central Market and the short clack of Angels Flight greets you—a miniature lift that still remembers Bunker Hill's Victorian-era ambitions. For the next three hours the city becomes a classroom: metal and stone, glass and ornament speak in different architectural languages as you move from the Bradbury Building's 1893 ironwork to Frank Gehry's folding metal at the Walt Disney Concert Hall.
