The Downton Abbey Town and Country Tour gives fans a chance to fully immerse themselves in the world of the Crawley family. This incredible tour of the beautiful countryside and villages featured in the show, which will showcase the wonderful filming locations used in the making of the show.
This small group private tour can be taken all year round as it doesn’t include Highclere Castle. Instead you will see many other great locations featured in the show. You will get to hear anecdotes about the cast, filming and production, transporting you into the world of the Crawley family.
Depart from central London. The day will start with a guided tour some of the London locations used in the show and which stood in for other parts of England. You will then visit the 11th century farmstead that was used as the home of Mr Drewe where Lady Edith’s daughter was initially raised.
Then its time for lunch at the pub where where Branson and Lady Sybil elope. Here you will get a chance to take lunch. Then you can explore pictureseque Cotswold villages in Oxfordshire used in filming. Before heading to Downton village you will also see where Bates works after leaving Downton Abbey and where Matthew Crawley show showed Lady Edith his love of churches.
In the afternoon you will get to explore the beautiful village used as the setting for Downton village. Here, you’ll see locations such as the hospital, post office, local pub, church and the home of the Crawleys. Following a guided tour of the village you will have some free time to explore on your own.
You will then return to London.
