Covas do Douro
Our estate harbours one of the oldest wineries in the Douro Demarcated Region. The two buildings were erected in 1764 on different levels and still maintain their original design, with schist walls and tall, wide wooden doors, through which 550-litre Port wine barrels used to pass.
Discover our wines at the Patamar Wine Shop & Bar, where you can enjoy an outdoor terrace that offers wonderful panoramic views over the vineyard, nestled next to the Douro River.
Taste our wines - some of the finest wines produced in the Douro region. For wine lovers, we also offer the chance to sample the flavours of the Dão region. We want to provide you with an unforgettable wine experience that pays tribute not only to the Douro region but also to Portugal, as a wine tourism destination.
The exceptional terroir of our winery is represented in this tasting that ends with an iconic wine and a perfect example of a beautiful Tinta Roriz grape variety from the Douro.
After booking we will send all the details of the reservation, as well as the location of the winery and the contact of the producer.
If you wish to propose another day or time for the experience, send us a message and we will do our best to reschedule, or we can include one more experience for all day.
Reserve your spot early to secure a session on the terrace during peak daylight hours.
The winery grounds include outdoor pathways on uneven stone surfaces; suitable footwear helps you move easily.
Public transport options are limited; consider a private transfer or designate a driver if sampling wines.
The tasting takes place partially outdoors, so light layers or sun protection are recommended depending on season.
The winery’s two main buildings, erected in 1764, remain largely unchanged in design, preserving historic winemaking architecture of the Douro region.
This winery emphasizes sustainable viticulture practices to protect the fragile river valley ecosystem and maintain soil health for future generations.
