Dolphin Excursions is a marine tour operator based in Waianae, Hawaii, offering small-group ocean adventures focused on dolphins, sea turtles, and seasonal humpback whales. The company runs several guided trips: the Dolphin Excursion that guarantees dolphin sightings and accommodates up to 16 guests with personalized guidance from marine biologists; the Afternoon Turtle Safari, a leisurely snorkeling tour to see sea turtles, rays, and tropical fish at multiple reefs; and a Whale Watch experience that is currently closed for the season.
Tours emphasize responsible wildlife viewing, in-water snorkeling at designated reefs, and educational commentary led by knowledgeable crew and marine biology professionals. Safety and conservation are integral to the operation, with briefings on proper marine wildlife etiquette, snorkeling procedures, and vessel safety before every departure. Small group sizes create a personalized atmosphere and allow crew to prioritize guest experience, wildlife welfare, and minimal environmental impact. Equipment for snorkeling is provided or available for rent, and photographers are encouraged to capture marine life from the water and vessel. The business operates from Waianae harbor, offering convenient access to West Oahu reef systems and offshore waters where dolphins and turtles frequent. Reservations are recommended, especially for the limited-capacity Dolphin Excursion and popular Afternoon Turtle Safari. Dolphin Excursions works within state regulations for marine wildlife interactions and partners with local conservation guidelines to ensure tours remain ethical, educational, and enjoyable for guests of varying experience levels.
