Morning light carves the dunes into ridges of gold as you leave Doha behind and head south toward Mesaieed. The desert opens and the 4x4 breathes over soft slopes; sandboards scrape and rattling laughter follows each slide. By midday the shoreline of Khor Al Udaid appears — a rare inland sea where warm desert sand meets turquoise water — and the landscape shifts from raw desert to saline edge.
