THE ADVENTURE COLLECTIVE® · Independent discovery and booking for outdoor travel

Read the full experience

A convoy of air-conditioned 4x4s slips off the highway and into a landscape where wind-shaped sand rises and falls like a living tide. By mid-afternoon the sun angles low, gilding dune crests while the Inland Sea waits like a cool mirror at the desert’s edge — the day moves from high-octane flashes of dune bashing to the slow sway of a camel ride and a quiet BBQ by the water.

Adventure tips

Hydrate before and during the tripCarry at least 1–1.5 liters of water per person for the day; the desert air is dry and can dehydrate you faster than you expect.

Wear closed-toe shoesSoft dunes and rocky beach approaches demand sturdy, comfortable footwear to protect feet during sandboarding and walks.

Protect skin and eyesSunscreen SPF 30+, a wide-brim hat, and sunglasses will make midday and afternoon hours far more comfortable.

Secure loose items and electronicsDune bashing is bumpy — store cameras and phones in a zipped bag or use a wrist strap to avoid sand and sudden jostles.

Recommended gear

Sunscreen (broad-spectrum SPF 30+): Protects from strong desert sun during long outdoor exposure.
Closed-toe hiking shoes or sturdy trainers: Provides traction and foot protection on shifting sand and rocky beach approaches.
Lightweight long-sleeve shirt and hat: Keeps you shaded and reduces sunburn risk while remaining breathable in heat.
Swimwear and quick-dry towel: Useful if you plan to swim at the camp beside the Inland Sea.
