About This Adventure

Experience the thrill of diving at Molokini's Backwall, where visibility exceeds 100 feet and diverse marine life awaits. This advanced dive charter combines deep explorations with the chance to see turtles. With expert guidance and top-notch gear provided, prepare for an unforgettable underwater adventure in Maui's stunning ocean.

Advanced enough for Molokini's Backwall but also wanting to see some turtles while you are here? This charter has a bit of both!

Times

  • Check in is at 6:15 in the morning and we return to the harbor between noon and 1:00.

Prerequisites:

Backwall trips are for divers with advanced skills and recent dives, preferably in Maui. Minimum number of lifetime dives required to join us for this trip is 40. Participants must be able to descend quickly, be comfortable in strong currents, possess excellent buoyancy control, and be able to maintain a safety stop in blue water (no mooring line). If you don't have at least 40 dives and haven't been diving in the last 6 months, this isn't the dive for you.

What to Expect:

Visibility off the Backwall typically exceeds 100 feet and you never know what may swim by out in the open ocean! We will probably start our dive deep (around 80-100 feet) and slowly work our way shallower to extend our bottom time. Pyramid butterflyfish, blue dragon nudibranches and even frogfish make their homes on the Backwall, so be prepared for anything! You are welcome to bring your own equipment, but we are happy to provide all gear for Backwall Dives.

DIVER MEDICAL FORM REQUIRED: All certified divers are required to complete a medical history form and some will be required to obtain their physician's release to participate in scuba diving. Here's a link to the form for easy reference and in case it's needed for a doctor visit. Divers who are required to obtain a medical release to dive and who show up without one will be welcomed aboard as passengers but will not be able to dive and will not be refunded. We'd rather get to take you diving, so please get this done!

The Small Print:

Though we are planning to dive the Backwall on this date, Mother Nature is the ultimate boss of what we do. Should we find ourselves in conditions that do not allow us to safely dive the Backwall, we will find another less traveled/more advanced site or two and take it from there. We will not issue refunds if, due to weather conditions, we do not dive at this site.
