About This Adventure

Embark on an exhilarating half-day horseback riding experience designed for beginner and novice riders. After learning essential grooming and riding skills, you'll venture into stunning Sand Dunes for a 1½ hour ride. With expert guidance and the chance to ride different horses, this adventure promises to boost your confidence and skills.

Minimum Riding Skills Needed

All riders must have received prior instruction in horse riding and must be able to demonstrate the following:-

  • Mount/Dismount - mounting blocks provided
  • Hold Reins correctly (English Style)
  • Walk on a quiet horse/pony
  • Turn & Steer a quiet horse/pony
  • Slow down and Stop a quiet horse/pony from walk & trot
  • Children taken from 12yrs must have received riding tuition or be taking regular lessons.
  • All riders must be capable of riding off the lead rein.
  • Participants must be able to lead their horse to the mounting area.

About

This experience is for beginner and novice riders looking to improve and gain further riding experience. After an introduction to your horse where you will learn to groom, saddle & bridle. You will take a lesson in the arena covering all the pre required skills needed to go out to the Sand Dunes. Your instructors will offer you support and guidance helping you to improve your skills and confidence. If you do not show you have sufficient skills to control the horse safely the ride will stay onsite. Our decision on the riding assessment is final. After this lesson you will then go out to the Sand Dunes for a 1½ hour ride. You may ride different horses during the experience. This ride is not suitable for children under 12 years old.

Booking Conditions

Our upper weight limit is 220lbs, 16 1/2 stone or 105kg. For safety and horse welfare reasons, we are unable to accept riders over this weight.

Our recommended age for children to ride on this experience is a minimum of 12 years. Younger children can be taken by special arrangement only.

All riders please turn up 15mins before the start of your ride to allow time to book in and to fit hats.

Photography

All guides carry a camera and are happy to take photos for you. These will then be emailed to you. Please note these (like all our photos & videos) are taken from horseback. This is subject to tide conditions, how busy the dunes are other users and the general safety of the group. If you particularly want photos/videos please have a family member/friend meet you at the stables to take pictures or a list of local professional photographers can be supplied on request.
