You step off the plane into Colombo’s humid air and the road unfurls: paddy fields, a jagged granite crown, tea terraces climbing into cloud. Over eight days the itinerary pushes you from lowland temples to cool highland tea estates, where mist pins the hills and the wind seems to prod you higher.
