Enjoy a day out in the historic village of Glamis with a tasting at the Gin Bothy Experience and a guided tour of Glamis Castle, all for a discounted price.

This exclusive combined ticket includes a Classic Gin Bothy Tasting at The Bothy Experience, featuring four seasonal gins, and a guided tour of Glamis Castle, as well as admission to the castle's gardens and grounds.

This ticket is for Adults only, due to age restriction for the gin tasting (Ages 18 years +).

  • The gin tasting date and time MUST be booked online at the time of the Combined Ticket purchase.
  • The Glamis Castle tour does NOT require advance booking. On the day you wish to visit, simply show your 'Combined Ticket' confirmation at the castle ticket office for guided tour and grounds admission.
  • Visitors do not need to visit the Castle on the same day as the gin tasting, however please note the ticket is valid for one castle admission on or before the end of the castle 2025 visitor season.
  • Glamis Castle is open 7 days a week from 19th March 2025.
  • Castle opening times during Nov and Dec are 10.00am - 4.00pm (LAST ADMISSION and LAST TOUR is 3.30pm).

Enjoy a Classic Gin Bothy Tasting at The Bothy Experience

Tastings are available Thursday - Sunday at 12.00pm and 3.00pm (subject to availability).

  • The gin tasting will take place in one of the cosy and rustic Bothy Tasting rooms at The Bothy Experience in Glamis village. During which you will discover the story of the Gin Bothy and bothy life via a video presentation.

  • As well as the accompanying video you will receive one of our beautifully illustrated tasting mats to help guide you through your gin experience.

  • The tasting will include FOUR seasonal gins and liqueurs (each serving is 2.5cl). Please note the selection of gins will vary depending upon the season as follows: January - End May - Original gin, Raspberry liqueur, Rhubarb liqueur, Gunshot gin. June - End August - Original gin, Strawberry liqueur, Stirrup Cup gin, Gunshot gin. September - Mid November - Original gin, Plum liqueur, Gunshot gin, Chilli infused liqueur.

  • Each gin will be accompanied by ice, mixers and garnish where applicable so that you can enjoy a perfect serve.

  • One of our experienced Bothy Experience team members will be on hand to answer any questions or provide assistance if needed.

  • You can also add on Sharing Platters to your tasting (at an additional charge).

  • Drivers/Non-drinkers are welcome to join the tasting and will receive soft drinks during the tasting and a ‘Driver’s Gift’ of one 5cl mini gin bottle and a mixer to take away and enjoy at home.

  • This is a public tasting, which other guests can attend, and due to the cosy and sociable layout of our Bothy tasting rooms you may be seated at the same table as other bookings.

  • The gin tasting will last approximately 60 minutes, with a further 30 minutes to allow guests to finish drinks and food.

  • Assistance dogs are welcome in our tasting rooms.

Explore the rich history of Glamis Castle

  • Enjoy a guided Tour of Glamis Castle (inclusive of Gardens & Grounds Admission)
  • Available 7 days a week from 19th March 2025 until the end of the castle's 2025 visitor season.

Glamis Castle has been the ancestral seat to the Earls of Strathmore and Kinghorne since 1372, the inspiration for Shakespeare’s Macbeth, the childhood home of HM Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, and the birthplace of HRH The Princess Margaret.

  • Visitors will follow in the footsteps of Mary, Queen of Scots, James V, Bonnie Dundee, the Old Jacobite Pretender to the throne, James VIII, the ill-fated Janet Douglas and of course, tell the story of the bitter-sweet life of Mary Eleanor Bowes.
  • 2025 opening days and times: 7 days a week, 19th March - 31st October, 10.00am–5.00pm (last tour at 4.30pm). Thursday to Sunday, 1st November - 21st December, 10.00am - 4.00pm (last tour at 3.30pm).
  • The average tour of the castle lasts 50 minutes. Please also allow additional time to explore the beautiful gardens & grounds, as well as the Castle Kitchen Restaurant and Pavilion Gift Shop.
  • Assistance dogs are welcome inside the castle and on the guided tour.
  • Please note: due to the historic nature of the building, there is no lift and there are many stone steps to negotiate on the tour.

Reserve your gin tasting time when purchasing the combined ticket to secure your spot from Thursday to Sunday at either 12pm or 3pm.

Prepare for Castle Steps

Glamis Castle has many stone steps and no lift; wear comfortable, sturdy shoes and plan accordingly if you have mobility concerns.

Plan Your Transport

Free parking is available in Glamis village and at the castle, but public buses also run regularly from Dundee and Forfar.

Consider Non-Drinkers

Drivers and abstainers can enjoy mocktails and receive a mini Gin Bothy bottle to take home, so include them in your group count when booking.
