About This Adventure

Embark on a transformative 6-hour Discover paddling session, designed to elevate your paddleboarding skills and confidence. Learn essential safety techniques, refine your paddling style, and master trip planning in various conditions. Complete the course with the Paddle UK Discover Award certification, perfect for those ready to paddle independently.

Day Course (6 Hours)

The Discover paddling session is based around the Paddle UK Award is your next step on the paddleboarding journey. It’s all about developing your confidence and building a deeper understanding of how to stay safe, make good decisions on the water, and paddle with more control.

In this 6-hour practical session, you’ll learn how to plan simple trips, refine your paddling technique, and handle your board in different conditions. You’ll also cover essential safety skills, including what to do if you fall in, how to re-mount safely, and how to assess the paddling environment around you.

This course is for you if: You have never tried paddle boarding before, or have had a go and enjoyed it, and would like to start to develop your skills further. For something shorter check out our paddle board intro session. Do also check out our improvers course if you would prefer to do something in the evenings.

To complete the Paddle UK Discover award, you’ll demonstrate basic paddling competence, awareness of the conditions you’re paddling in, and the ability to make sound decisions for a safe and enjoyable time on the water.

This award is ideal for paddlers who’ve already had an introduction to SUP and want to build the confidence, skills, and knowledge to paddle independently.
