A chill wind from the Westerschelde lifts across the Markt as your team boots up the app and steps into Middelburg’s compact medieval core. Cobbled lanes, brick gables, and the squat silhouette of the abbey tower form the stage; the city’s stone and water seem to watch as you assume the role of an alchemist investigating a witchcraft accusation.

You can start near the Grote Markt or any central point in Middelburg; the app guides your route and clues.
The route is generally stroller‑accessible on paved streets, but cobbles and occasional steps can be challenging—plan accordingly.
The app and clues are provided in Dutch and commonly in English—check the app language settings before you begin.
The game is valid for up to three years from purchase and can be played anytime within that window during the app’s operating hours.
Middelburg grew wealthy in the Dutch Golden Age through trade and the VOC; much of the historic center reflects 16th–17th century mercantile architecture and later post‑war reconstruction.
Respect the historic fabric: avoid climbing on facades, keep noise low in residential courtyards, and carry out any litter—small behaviours help preserve these streets.
Coddy operates guided outdoor trips and adventures with an emphasis on safety, stewardship, and memorable experiences.
