About

This tour will lead you to discover and photograph the architectural, sculptural, political and social remains of a period known as the Socialist era from when Slovenia was a part of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. The period, just like many others, have set a lasting impression on the city with it’s relatively monotonous, prescribed architecture of social realism which offers an interesting photographic motif in the contrast to other architectural creations such as the medieval buildings and baroque 19th century architecture. A unique opportunity to experiment with black and white photography due to the monotone subject matter. An experience you will never forget.

Whether you are new in photography or have years of experience we will make sure that your time with us will be memorable and that you will walk away with increased confidence in your camera equipment and have learned about:

  • Manual camera settings such as aperture, shutter speed and iso
  • Creative composition using perspective, lines and color
  • The control and influence of light
  • Tips & tricks for post-processing

Highlights: You will get a chance to photograph the everlasting impression which the socialist times has imprinted in the city, hidden streets, squares and courtyards, as well as plenty of opportunities to experience interesting street art and murals.
