Ein Stadtrundgang quer durch den Stadtteil Eilbek von der Grenze des Stadtteils Hohenfelde bis nach Wandsbek. Eilbek ist bekannt als Stadtteil mit vielen Nachkriegsbauten in rotem Backstein, hat aber erstaunlich viel zu bieten: Eilbek ist geprägt von der Wandsbeker Chaussee, die schon zu Hansezeiten Teil der Handelsstraße zwischen Lübeck und Hamburg war. In den Seitenstraßen tun sich Wohnstraßen auf, die mit viel Geschichte aufwarten können: ein altes Hospital, ein Kloster mit langer Tradition, eine Kapelle in einem Park, zu Wohnhäusern umgebaute Bunker, typische Stadthäuser, sowie gründerzeitliche Bebauung als Zeugen der Vorkriegszeit. Wir durchqueren auf dieser Stadtführung das Auenviertel, gehen am Ufer des Eilbekkanals entlang und erfahren zum Abschluss im Jacobipark von einem Schmuggler.
