About This Adventure

Embark on a culinary adventure in Chengdu, a UNESCO City of Gastronomy. Over four days, savor unlimited street food and hotpot, visit the Giant Panda Research Base, and experience traditional tea culture. Explore the scenic town of Leshan, home to the majestic Giant Buddha, while indulging in local delicacies.

Trip Cost:

You will be charged a deposit of $330 USD per person to secure your spot. To see the total price for your specific trip, select the date in the calendar. Balances (total price - deposit) will be collected 14 days prior to trip start.

Prices are based on two guests per room. Single travelers will be charged an additional single occupancy fee when your balance is due.

As the hot-spot of Sichuan cuisine, Chengdu has been an UNESCO City of Gastronomy for over a decade. From local street food to roundtable hotpots, come experience why Chengdu and its cuisine are so special and unique.

Duration: 4 days, 3 nights Group Size: Small groups of 4-10 guests per trip Inclusions:

  • 3 nights accommodations.
  • All meals, including soft drinks and beer. Food will be plentiful and varied!
  • Ticket/entrance fees at attractions.
  • Our own private ground transportation, provided each day, stocked with mineral water.
  • English speaking Lost Plate trip leader.
  • Airport pick-up at CTU on day 1.
  • Airport drop-off at CTU on day 4.
  • Shopping is available during your free time, but this is a no-shopping tour and is not part of our itinerary.
  • Online pre-trip briefing and Q&A by Lost Plate one week prior to departure.

  • Jump in our Tuktuks and join our Chengdu Evening Food Tour for unlimited food, beer, and soft drinks and try at least 10 dishes across 4+ stops, plus a local bar.
  • Sichuan is the land of pandas, so we'll visit the Chengdu Research Base for Giant Pandas for a good look at all shapes and sizes.
  • Head to the outskirts to a special teahouse that hasn't changed for decades. Experience a staple of Chengdu culture and enjoy a cup of tea with locals like they have their entire lives.
  • Enjoy the very best of Chengdu's word-famous hotpot scene. This tradition is almost 3000 years old, and for good reason! We'll visit our favorite spot off the tourist track.
  • Visit a Sichuan tea village where you'll pick, roast and make tea by hand, plus explore the tea terraces.
  • Stay in the town of Leshan, famous for its Giant Buddha carved into a 71 meter riverside cliff where three local rivers meet...plus try all the best local eats.
