Martha Marie Fishing Charters operates out of Lewes Harbour Marina, offering trips tailored to a spectrum of fishing enthusiasts—from first-timers to those sharpening their offshore tactics. The business provides the opportunity to fish in some of the region’s richest waters, known for Stripers, Bluefish, and Flounder, species that define the local sportfishing tradition.
The Lewes harbor area features a unique blend of bay and oceanic environments with shifting tides that influence fish activity, delivering dynamic conditions that make each outing distinct. The captains at Martha Marie emphasize hands-on learning, teaching kids and novices how to feel a bite and handle rods, creating an educational atmosphere onboard. Trips typically cover several miles offshore, navigating through areas with underwater structures where fish gather, although conditions naturally vary with the weather and seasons.
Martha Marie’s wooden-hulled boat adds a touch of classic maritime character to the experience, standing out among modern fiberglass vessels typical in the area. While the boat’s age reflects the region’s long history of fishing, the crew focuses on maintaining a welcoming environment for families and small groups looking for a day on the water. This combination of accessible fishing tours and local marine expertise anchors Martha Marie as a notable option in Delaware’s coastal adventure scene.
