A minibus pulls out of Marrakech before dawn and the city’s heat dissolves into rolling foothills and silver-green olive groves. By midmorning the road drops to a river valley where water thunders over a jagged cliff — Ouzoud Falls presenting a curtain of spray and rainbows. Visitors walk along stepped paths and terraces, cross a hand-operated barge, or sit at a café at the lip of the gorge while the falls insistently reshape the valley below.
