A salt-licked wind meets the ferry as it eases toward Öja; granite ribs and low-pine scrub slide into view and the island’s shoreline draws the eye like a map. Hikers step off onto a coastline that alternates between smooth rock plates and pockets of peat, then follow a trail that climbs and eases across 11 km of mixed terrain, ending at Landsort lighthouse — a white tower that has watched shipping since the 17th century.
