A ribbon of glacier-fed water threads through carved schist and beech forest as the jet boat slides away from Glenorchy. Spray knifes the air and the river dares you forward — one hour of high-speed riding across braided channels opens into a secluded launch where inflatable canoes (funyaks) wait. You climb in, feel the current nudging, and trade engine roar for the quiet work of paddles as the valley exhales around you.
