The trail opens with warm air and a limestone river that seems to dare you forward—clear pools, scalloped rock ledges and a chorus of water announcing each drop. At Damajagua (often called the 27 Charcos) visitors walk, scramble and leap through a sequence of cascades carved into the northern flank of the Cordillera Septentrional, finishing the route in cool mountain pools.

Participants should be comfortable walking on uneven, wet rock, able to climb short sections and swim in pools.
Guided visits typically take 2–3 hours from arrival to return, including safety briefings, climbing between pools and time to swim and relax.
