The bus eases away from the Crate & Barrel lot on Knox Street and the windows frame a ribbon of lights — garlands looping over mansions, synchronized displays behind clipped hedges, and the sudden, childish glow of a Santa house on Southwestern. For 90 brisk minutes you move through Highland Park and University Park, watching neighborhoods trade the anonymity of suburban streets for choreographed holiday bravado.
