Read the full experience

From October 10 to November 8, 2025, the Ohio Wine Producers Association invites tastemakers and nature lovers alike to an unexpected fall tradition: the Daffodil Trail. Set in northeastern Ohio's charming towns stretching from Doylestown to Ravenna, this seasonal event weaves the pleasures of local wines with the promise of spring gardens. It takes place within a region rich in gently rolling hills, fertile soils, and a burgeoning reputation for boutique wineries that champion both varietal quality and craft cider. Participants purchase a ticket granting access to multiple participating wineries such as Bent Ladder, Maize Valley, and Gervasi Vineyard, where they sample carefully curated reds, whites, and ciders paired with light bites. The twist? At each stop, visitors also receive a unique daffodil bulb to plant at home. These bulbs, ready to bloom when spring arrives, create a living souvenir of the fall journey and a tangible connection to the terroir. This event is more than a tasting tour; it’s an immersive way to connect with Ohio’s viticultural landscape that thrives on limestone-rich soils and moderate microclimates. The trail highlights the diversity of the region’s varieties, from crisp Rieslings to robust Chambourcin, while introducing guests to the state’s deepening commitment to sustainable farming. The Daffodil Trail stands out because it bridges outdoor adventure with agritourism, encouraging a seasonal rhythm of discovery and cultivation. Whether you're a seasoned wine enthusiast or a casual visitor seeking a convivial afternoon, this six-hour experience offers an enjoyable pace with ample opportunities to wander through winery grounds, chat with vintners, and watch autumn light dapple the vineyards. Careful planning is advised since wineries’ hours vary, but the generous window of availability ensures flexibility. With ticket prices starting at $55, this approachable day trip enhances Ohio’s reputation as a destination for offbeat adventures that marry flavor with the land itself.
