About

Discover the most beautiful squares and monuments of Florence through the eyes of an expert local guide. The first stage of the tour will be Piazza della Repubblica, with its elegant cafes. Follow your guide through the characteristic alleys until the Mercato Nuovo, to discover how to win good luck caressing the bronze statue of the Porcellino. At a stone throw there is the suggestive Ponte Vecchio, a true icon of the city, famous for hosting the most exclusive jewelry stores of Florence and for being the only bridge of the city spared from the bombings during the 2nd World War. Passing through the Accademia dei Georgofili and the Uffizi Square, reach the beating heart of Florence, Piazza della Signoria, an authentic open-air museum, with the majestic Palazzo Vecchio and its original statues by great artists. The tour will end in Piazza San Giovanni, housing the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, the Baptistery, Giotto’s bell Tower and the symbol of Florence, Brunelleschi’s Dome. At the end of the walking tour, the experience continues visiting one of the most important museums in Italy, with the advantage of a privileged entrance with the skip the line ticket. Your guide will reveal the secrets of the Accademia Gallery, built in 1784, and conceived as a real shrine devoted to the preservation of Michelangelo’s world-renowned masterpieces, such as the original version of David, the “unfinished” I Prigioni and San Matteo. Discover some interesting facts about the tormented life of this Tuscan artist, who was not only a sculptor, but also a painter, an architect and a sensitive poet. His whole life was marked by the continuous struggle between form and content, between his religious devotion and his personal hidden desires. At the end of the guided tour, you will have the possibility to stay in the museum for as long as you like.
