Nos encontraremos en nuestra oficina para visitar la catedral de Santa María de Toledo, construida en 1226 sobre un antiguo templo visigodo y una mezquita.
Comenzaremos viendo la fachada principal, afamada por sus puertas monumentales. Nos llamará la atención la Puerta de los Leones debido al conjunto de estatuas que coronan la parte superior.
Mientras recorreremos el templo, admiraremos su muy iluminado claustro. Las bóvedas y galerías permiten que se filtre la luz entre los inmensos arcos.
A pesar de ser de tradición católica, esta catedral tiene cierta influencia musulmana. ¿Seréis capaces de notar los elementos arquitectónicos que parecen sacados de una mezquita? Durante el recorrido, nos daremos cuenta de por qué Toledo es conocida como la ciudad de las tres culturas: cristiana, musulmana y judía.
Pasearemos por el interior de la catedral para descubrir la belleza que entrañan el coro, el altar mayor, la sacristía y la sala capitular, donde tiene lugar la práctica religiosa.
Gracias a esta visita guiada por la catedral de Toledo, conoceremos uno de los edificios más importantes de la cultura cristiana que curiosamente está construida sobre los restos de un antiguo templo musulmán.
