Join former State Senator Paul Doane, who has called Harwich his hometown for over 80 years, on this fact-filled, engaging stroll while revisiting the people, sites and fierce politics that shaped this Historic village. The two-hour tour covers the four early centers of generational activity, Pine Grove Seminary, South Parish Meetinghouse, Exchange Hall, and the Broadbrooks commercial block. You’ll learn about and visit the homes and final resting spots of leading families of our first 200 years, Broadbrooks, Underwood, Chase and Snow as well visit locales of residents whose popular commercial endeavors stretched “abroad”. Individual earpieces make the tour a most enjoyable and engaging summertime afternoon experience for both visitors and residents alike, that want to learn more about this remarkable community.
